About Us

WE BELIEVE THAT

A Brighter Future Starts With An Education

AND WE ARE WORKING TO MAKE THIS A REALITY

Sponsor A Child's Education is a non-profit club at University of British Columbia (UBC) that provides sponsorship for secondary school education to underprivileged South Sudanese refugee students in Kakuma Refugee Camp. We raise money to sponsor these children through various fundraising events and conferences that we hold throughout the year. We hope to make secondary education an easily accessible opportunity and not an elusive privilege for all South Sudanese refugee children.

ABOUT

Kakuma Refugee Camp

is one of the largest camps in the world that has the highest number of children with 162,000 people and 14,000 children without parents.

Over 40% of refugees have no access to education. Other refugees face an insufficient education system with a ratio of 140 students per class.
